Supporting ongoing recovery in South Santa Barbara County and strengthening responses to future disaster
We're collaborating with local leaders and working with government and NGO partners to respond to new regional disasters, like the Holiday Fire in Goleta and disaster-related evacuations.
Community Long Term Recovery Group
The Community Long Term Recovery Group (CLTRG) provides coordinated management of recovery to help residents with repair & rebuild needs, pshychological/emotional/spiritual care needs, case management, and financial coordination.
Santa Barbara County VOAD is dedicated to improving outcomes for county residents affected by disasters by fostering "the Four C's"—cooperation, communication, coordination, and collaboration—among nonprofit organizations, community-based organizations, government agencies, and for-profit companies that are active in disasters.
AirBnb Open Homes
Through Open Homes, AirBnb hosts can offer free, temporary housing to people who needed to leave their homes because of disaster. Guests are either people who’ve had to evacuate or relief workers coming to help. AirBnb activates regions when an event, like a wildfire, hurricane or flash-flood warnings, affect a community.
"Rebuilding a community after natural disaster is no easy feat. It takes patience, perseverance, organizational skills, teamwork, and strong leadership to get things done. For leaders participating in Long-Term Recovery (LTR) Committees, this is especially true."
